Today's blog is of a peacock. The focus of this picture is sharp to where you can see each strand on the feathers of the peacock, The bright blue and the green contrast each other to make each other stand out in their own way. The lighting hits the birds just right so we can classify this picture all a front/full lit picture. This can also be classified as a portrait because it's only focusing on the peacock and nothing else.

Today's blog is a fine art photo. This photo is classified as fine art because obviously, this is not documentary and there is a set up background. The lighting really helps bring the color out and gives it a sense on pop to catch viewer's eyes. The contrast of the black screen and the bright colored fruit help the color stand out even more. The focus is really sharp because you can see the various colors on each fruit and exactly where they are.

Today's blog is about a picture of a dog in a christmas tree costume. The picture has good lighting because it shows the costume with good color and the background too. The dark brown of the dog contrasts with the green suit that helps it stand out and look to be the center of attention. There isn't a foreground but there is a background with a shelf garden with christmas accents on it. The focus of this photo is sharp because the dog's eyes are glassy from clarity and you can see details in the shelf garden.

Today's picture is of many boards of chalk with various different colors. The focus of this pictures is really sharp because the chalks' ridges and edges are easily noticeable. The picture looks like it were taken outside which is why the picture seems to have natural sun light. With the black holders, it contrasts with the colors which make them stand out and appear brighter. This angle is bird's eye view because it is taken above the objects and is tilted to get every object in focus.

Today's photo is of a crystal chandelier. The picture's focus is really good because you can see the cuts and textures of the many differently designed pieces. One thing that could improve the composition of the picture would be to crop out the light on the left side of the chandelier. The lighting is really good because it its positioned so that the light helps the chandelier have a bright white coloring that makes it stands out.

The picture for today is of an 18th birthday cake. This cake has really good lighting since the candles aren't burning too bright, which could've ruined the picture. The white frosting and the colorful candles contrast so that the candles stick out and so does the white cake with the darkened background. The focus of this picture is really sharp because you can see the textures of the frosting and the melted ends of the candles.

Today's picture is a portrait of a man and his mustache. The lighting of this makes the picture a half-lit photo because only half of his face is lit with light. The focus of the picture is really sharp to where you can see each follicle and even as far as his pores. The light shines the his eyes which makes the green in them stand out and make then more noticeable. The blurred out background makes the man stand out all the more. The picture captures very well the emotion of this picture and the man's intention of making a funny face.

Today's picture I took of my basketball right before golden hour. This picture is to be considered a half-lit picture since the light splits the basketball in half with a dark side and a bright side. The focus of this picture is really sharp and well done because the viewer is able to see every little dot and ridge on the ball, as well as the letters on the ball too. The light since at an angle, allows the light to hit the grass where the light makes the green of the grass brighten and stand out.

Today's picture is of a dragon made out of some special materials. The focus of this isn't complete although it is very sharp where it is focused. The color contrast of the blackish/brownish material of the dragon with the bright green bush give good contrast to make the dragon stick out. The foreground isn't visible but there is a middle ground and background. The middle one is the main object or center of attention. The background would be bright green bush in the back ground that is out of focused.

Today's picture is a shot of Big Ben in Great Britain and the body of water around it. The focus of this picture is great and the quality of the picture definitely proves that there was previous editing and filters. The light makes the photo appear as though it were taken mid-day or 1 pm, and helps the viewer of the photo be able to see many qualities of the giant clock. The foreground of the photo consist of the water, while the clock itself is the middle ground or the center of image or main object. The background of the picture consist of the clouds and sun.

Today's blog is a picture of a butterfly perfectly centered on a flower. One thing that I would change about this picture is the position of the butterfly because if it were to be parallel to the photographer with their wings fully spanned. This would show the full backside of the butterfly. The focus of this picture is really sharp because of the detail in the leaves and its color. Another detail I would fix is, if I were to keep the butterfly in that position, the lighting because it is way too ominous and spooky for a nature shot.

Today's blog is a picture shot in around the 1930's or 40s. This picture's focus is on the tree that is centered in the picture. The foreground consist of the stairway of the apartments that appear at the bottom of the picture. The background of the picture consist of the people and the many buildings that are out of focus. The black and white of the picture helps the focus of the picture become sharper and appear cleaner.

Yesterday, I graded Miguel Estevez and Desiree Coberrubias. I gave Miguel a B, I think, because the composition of several photos was really good, but some lacked the necessary qualities to be called an "A plus photo". The focus on certain photos were amazing and then the other photos that were not as great lacked in focus and had errors. Desiree Coberrubias had great photos which is why I gave her an A, but lacked in a variation of the types of photos she took.

Today's photo is of a soldier looking at possibly, a jet show. The composition of this photo is really well done because of its many distinct qualities. The focus of this photo is really good because the focus allows you to see the individual hairs on the soldiers head and exactly how many planes ae on the sky, 7. The color contrast of the white hat and black suit with the blue sky help the soldier stand out more.

Today's blog is of a picture of Miley Cyrus while performing on a giant plastic hotdog. The color contrast of the blue and white background make the signer, who is in yellow, stand out with her giant tan and red hotdog to show that they are the center of attention. The lighting of this picture shines on the singer and the hotdog while silhouetting the back up singers and the musicians to make her the main object.

Today's photo is of an abstract art piece in a museum. This picture's color contrast is great because the dark brown of the sculpture and the white of the wall behind make the sculpture greatly stand out. The focus of this shot is done perfectly because one can perfectly see the change in brown tones throughout the picture. A way to make this shot better is to finish the end of the table of which the sculpture is on.

Today's blog is of a top part of a drink, assuming it is strawberry lemonade. The picture's focus if very sharp because you can count the strawberry seeds on there and see the textures of the ice cube. The color contrast of this picture is really good because the gray table behind the drink contrast with the bright red and pink lemonade to make drink stand out more. This standout is essential because the lemonade is the main subject of the photo.

Today's blog is of a man, probably on Fourth of July, with bags of balloons colored red, white and blue. The aspects of this picture are very good, The focus on the man holding the balloons is in complete focus down to the hairs on his legs, while the people in the back are completely out of focus. The picture's lighting is amazing because it makes the whole appearance of the man stand out. This picture is really good but could be improved with the eliminating the bystanders in the back.

Today's blog is a shot from the famous Vivian Maire. This is a random girl in the passenger's seat of a random car. The composition of this photo is really good because focuses on her face and crops out any unwanted space. The black and white ( although not change-able at the time) really, in my opinion, helps sharpen the image to see the beauty in her face more.

Today's blog is an action shot of this couple skydiving. This shot has really good composition because of its complementing qualities. The focus of the photo is really great because you can see the emotion in their eyes and the smiles on their faces. The cropping of the picture is great because there isn't too much head room or too much unnecessary space below them; there is just enough to see that they are skydiving by showing the earth's surface below them.

Today's picture is of a French flag in front of a twisted building. This pictures color contrast of the beige building in the back and the red, blue and white French flag make the blue and red of the flag pop and appear brighter. The focus of this picture is very sharp because even though the building is twisted, you can see the details in full focus as you would if the building was normal. The lighting of this picture makes the picture have the "mid-day in the shade" or the "early summer morning" look.
Blog: 10/13/17
Today's blog is of a black and white bike, most likely owned by a newspaper boy, due to the newspapers on the end. This picture's black and white filter helps really sharpen the image. The sharpening really helps the design of the fenced window stand out and also the chalk writing on the wall. The placement of the bike in the center makes the bike, in the eyes of the viewer, it is the main subject. This picture's cropping is good as it doesn't have too much head room or any unnecessary foreground.
Blog: 10/12/17
Today's picture is of a surfer riding a humongous wave. The picture's color contrast of the blue waves and semi-white water make the surfer himself stand out. The picture's focus is great because you can see his hand that he put inside the wave. The dimensions of the cropping are good because there isn't any unwanted space in this photo because no side of the wave ( in front or behind the wave) has too much space.

Today's image is of a couple in front of a mural. This photo is a great one evidenced by characteristics of it. This picture, for one, captures the emotions of the couple which include happiness, joy, excitement, and love for one another. The focus of the picture, not only captures the emotions, but also the personal details that make up the subjects, including their hair, tattoos, clothes, and smiles. This picture's lighting is great because natural light is being used to create a more natural look.

Today's blog is a shot of singer/rapper T-Pain during one of his performances. This "action shot" you could say, has many good aspects of a good photo. For starters, this picture's lighting is great because you can see the singer clearly and he appears bright. The second aspect is the focus because you can see the details of his face and microphone. This photo would be categorized as documentary photography because this is not staged and is in the moment.
Blog:10/6/17
Today's blog is a photo of little boy playing his bright piano on wheels. This picture has many good aspects in its composition which made it stand out from the rest when I was choosing. The color contrast in this photo is done well because the light blue of the ocean and the gray of the sidewalk contrast with the bright orange and blue piano, making it stand out catching the attention of the viewer. This picture also follows a Rule of Thirds where the boy playing the piano would be lined up perfectly if a 3x3 grid was placed on this picture. The focus of the picture greatly enhances the quality because you are able to see the many textures and aspects of the piano that you wouldn't normally see if the photo was blurred.
Blog:10/5/17
Today's blog is a picture of singer Rihanna on the red carpet with a beautiful dress. This picture has great composition because of its many great qualities. The focus on this picture is really good because you can the shine of the lights reflecting off the diamond in her necklace, the shine in her hair and one could practically read her tattoo from here. The saturation of this pic is great because the red isn't too much, but isn't too little.
Blog: 10/4/17
Today's blog is a picture of a straw umbrella in the bright blue sky. This picture is a good one for many reasons being the focus, color, and composition. The focus is amazing because on the umbrella you can see practically every straw. The bright blue of the sky makes the brown umbrella stand out because of its contrasting colors. The placement of the umbrella could be improved, but does apply to the rule of thirds.

Today's blog is a picture of a grandma through a playground tube. This picture has really good composition as it has many qualities of a good picture. The focus of the grandma through the play tube is good because you can see her facial features really well. Also the playground tube cleverly frames her face and makes a frame. The color of this picture is superb because the pink pops making the grandma's face do too.
Blog: 9/14/17
Today's blog is an action shot of a train functioning in the rain. This photo's composition is really good because of many factors. For starters, the color of the trolley car stands out with its bright blue and yellow because of the dark foreground and middle ground. The focus on the car is really good because we can see the glares of the lights shinning on the car and we can see the conductor inside and the rain which appears on the "forehead" of the train. The foreground is the in-focus wet, dark floor which makes the middle ground the main subject since it is centered. And the background is all the buildings and telephone wires behind it.
Blog: 9/13/17
Today's blog is a high angled close up of a dehydrated strawberry on top of a rice cracker. The focus of the image is really well because you can see every detail down to the little black dots on the strawberry. This image could've been improved because the plate is dirty with random crumbs all over it, so one thing would be to clean the plate. The lighting on the treat itself is very well and hopefully natural which would give it a more natural realistic feeling when one is looking at the picture.
Blog: 9/12/17
Today's blog is an action shot of a ball being kicked by a foot. This picture has really good focus on the ball but not on the foot in motion, The very stale colors on this photo make the color of the shoes pop. The burring of the background and foreground brings more attention to the objects that are in focus.
Blog: 9/11/17
Today's blog is a back shot of a Porsche of some kind. The car's blue is in good contrast with the florescent red lights in its spoiler (tail piece). The purple lighting shining on its left side, gives a us a half lit car because you are still able to note the blue color of the Porsche on the other side. The car is in really good focus as you can see by the viewer of the image being able to see each dot in the back lights and every little light shinning car.

Today's blog is one of the three spoons with different contents in them including grounded coffee beans (far left), fresh coffee beans (the middle), and what appears to be milk chocolate (far right). This picture has really good focus as you can single out many coffee grains in the grounded coffee beans, the details of the ridges in the fresh coffee beans, and the chocolate shavings on the chocolate on the right. This photo has really good color contrast because the white background really makes the brown of each product stand out.
Blog: 9/5/17
Today's blog is a shot of Frank Ocean performing live at one of his concerts. The picture's lighting is really good but can really improve in other aspects. The focus of this camera is not the best, most likely taken from a cell phone far away. The Rule of Thirds applies here because he is standing in 1/3 of the picture.
Blog: 9/2/17
Today's blog is a picture of Times Square through a fish eye lens, which therefore creates a fish eye view to the viewer of the image. This type of lens allows people to see what their world would be like through a fish's eye. This picture has good color contrast as the picture is mainly black due to the time of night which allows the florescent lights from the stores and billboards to stand out. The camera is in really good focus because you can see the moment taking place with such clear detail.
Blog: 9/1/17
Today's blog is a picture of a girl in the woods. This picture has really good composition in the subjects of lighting placement and focus. The lighting is a 9/10s lit as it is more than 3/4 lit because there is a small little sliver of her face that isn't lit. As for placement, her left (our right) eye, that if placed on a grid complies with the Rule of Thirds. As for focus, this picture blurs out the first leaves in the foreground and the trees in the background to focus on the middle ground which is the girl because she is the main subject.
Blog: 8/31/17
Today's blog is a photo by the photographer of the week, William Wegman. This is a picture of one of his dogs in a reflective shot of a red glass wall. This picture has really good focus and is centered perfectly. This photo also has good color contrast as red, blue and brown don't look similar, so the photo allows all colors to pop.
Blog: 8/30/17
Today's blog is an action shot of a favorite singer of mine called SZA. This is a picture of her standing on stage with purple lighting. If her hair wasn't in her face, I would definitely call this a full lit shot, but we could also label this a 3/4 lit shot. The composition of this photo is average but can be very much improved, by focusing the picture more since some sections of the photo that could be very much more focused than they are.
Blog: 8/29/17
Today's blog is of a dog posing with a Hydro-flask with a picturesque background of a mountain. The Focus of this picture is really well done as evidenced by everything being clear and visibly detailed. This picture applies to the Rule of Thirds because the dog, if placed on a grid, would be on the 1/3 line, This picture's composition is really well because the color pops but doesn't overpower the natural light.
Blog: 8/28/17
Today's blog is of a mini lava cake (ignore the title logo). This picture of lava cake is a really good one because of its focus and lighting. The foreground of this shot would be the out of focus blueberry. Then, the middle ground is the cake itself as it is the most in focus item on the picture. The background of the picture would just be the end of the plate behind the cake and the fancy backdrop used to create the background of the image.
Blog: 8/25/17
Today's blog is a shot I took of my dog while in the car. This picture, in my opinion, is a good shot because the lighting is really good which makes my puppy stand out. The picture is extremely well also because the cropping creates a good focus on the subject and keeps the picture straight. One thing to improve the picture to make it better is to crop out some head room because there is way too much and also takes away from the image.
Blog: 8/24/17
Today's blog is a cup of macha coffee beverage. The photo has a good contrast in colors as brown works well with the green to make it pop more. The clarity in this photo is superb because of its ability to help the viewer of this shot to perfectly count the air bubbles in the foam. One aspect I think would make the whole picture better is if the photographer would've waited to drink out of the beverage since we see the ring of green around the cup.
Blog: 8/23/17
Today's blog is of a footprint in the sand from someone who recently walked on it. This picture is a good picture because of its many great qualities; one includes the clarity of the print because any viewer of the photograph can practically count the grains of sand. The lighting is, in my opinion 1/2 lit because there is the dark side to the foot that (I would assume) the sunset or sunrise doesn't hit.
Blog: 8/22/17
Today's blog is of a picture I took on Friday August 18, 2017. This picture, many could say has golden lighting as the color of the tree would appear differently in regular mid-day lighting. The foreground would be the side walk and the grass patch in front of the tree trunk. The middle ground would be the giant beautiful tree top with florescent red color as its leaves. The background would be all the cars and the road behind the tree.
Blog: 8/21/17
Today's blog is an action shot of a dancer in mid - twirl because it is noticeable that she has not completed her turn. The composition of this picture is really good because she is centered and has a color contrast that works well with the brown and green lighting in the back. The lighting on her is only 1/2 because her back is not lit like the front of her body.

Today's blog is on a hay replica of SpongeBob Square Pants and his pet snail Gary. The picture is one of very good quality because the focus is able make everything look clear. The foreground would be Gary because he appears closer to the front. The SpongeBob Square Pants hay replica would be the middle ground because he is centered making him look like the main object. The background would be the road and street light and trees in the background.
Blog: 8/16/17
Today's blog is a shot by Elena Shumilova of her little boy with their pet dog. This shot has really good clarity as it focuses only on the boy and the dog and blurs out the Slovakian forest in the back. This picture can reflect the rule of thirds since the little boy would be lined up with a third line on the right. This picture's foreground is the forest floor. The middle ground would be the main focus, so that indicates that the boy and his dog are the middle ground. The background would be the blurred our forest in the back.
Blog: 8/15/17
Today's blog is about a picture of me and my friends at school on Tiki Tourist Tuesday. This picture is one many would call "candid" because the picture was taken of guard. The picture could be improved by cropping the left side more to make the picture have the aspect ratio of a square. The clarity on the picture, however, is actually well enough to see the letters on the student's shirt on the left side of the background.
Blog: 8/14/17
Today's blog is of a little girl's feet. This picture has really good clarity and is so focused to the point where you can see each hair on her leg and every sparkle on her shoe. The foreground is very clear showing the pebbles and dirt in the front. The middle ground is the clearest since the shoes and the legs are the main subject. The background of this picture is unfocused and unclear which gives me more clarity
Blog: 8/11/17
Today's blog is of a yawning cat. The filter on the cat is well selected as it accents the cats whiskers which happens to also be the foreground. The middle ground, of course, is the cat itself, and the background is the very unfocused object the cat appears to be laying on. Things I would improve in this photo, is to rearrange the composition of the focus from the whiskers.
Blog: 8/10/17
Today's blog is on the umbrella infested streets in Israel. The foreground of this shot includes two trees, one on each side. The middle ground includes the umbrellas as they are the main purpose for taking the picture. The background includes the tops of the buildings and trees. This shot has a very good contrast in color as the umbrella's go against the gray street floor.
Blog: 8/9/17
Today's blog is an action shot of a singer at his concert. The foreground includes the unfocused microphone as it appears closest to the camera. The middle ground is obviously the singer as he is the main focus. There seems to be no back ground as its mostly pitch black, One of the things I would change if I were to be the one to take this picture is the cropping by adding back in the rest of his arm.
Blog: 8/8/17
Today's blog shot is a candid of a women singing with her mother in the back. Her legs are foreground because the guitarist would be considered the middle ground since she is the main focus. In the background, you can see an older women, assuming it would be her mother. This picture would be improved just by removing the lady in the background from the picture since the main focus should be on the girl playing.

Today's blog is shot by Irina Werning, an Argentinian photographer who is famous for before and after shots of people. Basically before and after pictures. This picture is a really good picture as the subject recreates his elementary school picture taken many years later by using the exact items and clothing he used before. By using the old clothes, this gives a more realistic vibe to the picture.
Blog: 8/4/17
Today's blog is of a hazel colored eye in a zoom shot. The focus on the iris is great and clear. What would make this picture better if the entire iris were captured to give a perfect picture an eye's iris. The focus is great as it also includes the blood vessels with such clarity. This picture looks to be one that would be used in optometry researches and many college medical labs.
Blog: 8/3/17
Today's blog photograph is of a person holding a miniature Indian Flag. This picture to me has really good lighting as it makes the colors of the subject, in this case , the flag stick out very well. Although the lighting is good, there is a lack in good composition because of a lot of space and also lacks in quality. For starters' the picture's clear border would need to be cropped out and the picture have to be more focused to the point where we can see blue symbol on the flag clearly. Also, there is a lot of foreground and background and it would need to crop out a lot to make the flag even more the main image.
Blog: 8/2/17
Today's blog is a shot of a baby boy bathing in a bath tub. The focus of the baby is great as it focuses on his face and his smile capturing the joy he has when in water. To improve this picture, I would have cropped it so that there is less foreground space from his right (our left) hand to the bottom of the photo or could've taken a completely new picture that included all his head.
Blog: 8/1/17
Today's blog is about this photograph of a geyser spewing hot water by Ansel Adams. Adam's photos aren't normally this dark and unfocused but this one is. Many things, in my opinion, can be changed in this photograph to make it a renown one like he is formally known for. For starters, the photograph lacks a lot of focus and has really bad lighting. He could have stood at a different angle which could've given him better lighting.
Blog: 7/31/17
Today's photograph is of a worm's eye of a sleeping white Labrador with a black and white filter placed over the image. In my opinion, the black and white filter that is placed helps sharpen the image as shown by the viewer of the image being able to see the Labrador's whiskers and the pores on its (I say its because I don't know the gender) nose. Although there isn't much action going on the in the photo, the Rule of Thirds is applicable here when drawing a line down the Labrador's right (our left) eye.
Blog: 7/28/17
I chose a portrait off the internet because I wanted to have human subjects in my blogs. This portrait of an elderly shows good focus on the subject's face and also displays a use of the Rule of Thirds if you make a place a line going down his left eye (the right in our perspective). The photograph has good resolution and composition as you can clearly see the man's face with the correct lighting to do so.
Blog: 7/27/17
This picture is a worm's eye view picture that is in what seems to be a backyard. This picture's composition is very good but doesn't seem to have a main subject seeing as the only focused object is far away and there are many other objects in the picture. If I were to have taken this photo, I would've straightened the angle and looked for an object to be front and center.
Blog: 7/26/17
This is a picture I got off the internet and I chose it because the composition of the picture really stuck out to me and it idolizes the flower because the flower is the main subject. One thing I would have changed, if I were to have taken this picture myself, is to reposition where the shot was taken to take out the blurred flower in the back.

This is a picture I took myself on March 5, 2016 of the scenery outside of my window. I like how this picture is cleverly framed with the brightened image of the sky and the darkened wall that surrounds the window. If I were able to retake this picture, I would have changed the position of where I took the picture to stand right in front of the window and straightened out the angle.
